A Turkey Vulture is not a buzzard in Ohio

On July 11, I wrote about driving the posted speed limit on this blog. I mentioned some of the birds I see along the way. According to Jim Fry who writes a NATURE column for the Columbus Dispatch the bird I identified as a buzzard is correctly called a Turkey Vulture. In his August 20th column, Mr. Fry describes the Turkey Vulture's physical characteristics, talks about their nesting habits and just about everything you ever wanted to know about Turkey Vultures.
