What Obama Said

What did Obama say that a normal middle class working guy doesn't already know?

Mike Allen on The Politico has handed HRC the nomination. This flap du jour shows how OUT OF TOUCH Mike Allen, Huffington and the others are.

My response to Mike Allen's 12 reasons....

1. The elites like Hillary Clinton are the folks getting all upset. In yet another fantastic example of the pot calling the kettle black, Hillary described Obama's remarks as condescending and disappointing and thinks he undercuts his message of hope. We get this from the woman whose remarks about a trip to Bosnia seem more appropriate to a fairy tale than to reality. What is NOT condescending about that deception?

2. .....sound like a clueless liberal, don’t say it in San Francisco....
I contend Obama is not the one who is clueless. Perhaps the folks he was talking to are clueless. And maybe, I said maybe, Obama was trying to explain to the clueless elites of San Francisco the working mans whys and wherefores.

3. Cheap shot.

4.Obama didn't say you had to be bitter to go to church. Obama didn't say that you had to be bitter to love the Lord. Obama didn't say you had to be bitter to serve the Lord.

5. Some hard-working Americans find it insulting when rich elites come into town every four years and make promises they have no intention of ever keeping. Some hard-working Americans are desperate for a change.

6. People don't need to make excuses for not voting for Obama. Telling folks the truth about themselves is politically risky. Better he tell them the truth than another lie.

7. There you go again, afraid of being called a liberal. What color was that kool-aid you drank?

8. Actually it won't be that easy to frame Obama's words into an easily repeated line of attack. Calling Obama elitist and arrogant is the equivalent of using the word uppity and all the bad old days racism that word suggests.

9. Typical George Bush/Karl Rove trickery. Call the other guy the name you think of when you see your own reflection in the mirror.

10. Culture and class drive the discussion and now the voters have heard Obama speak to them in truthful terms. Paul Begala is right, “Democrats have to respect their values and reflect their values, not condescend to them as if they were children who’ve been bamboozled.” I would say Obama has done all that.

11. We can only wonder at Huffington's reasoning. $$$ maybe?

12. Republicans, who run like the house is on fire when truth knocks on the door WOULD be afraid of Obama's remarks. Of course Republicans think they can use it to their advantage because they are such liberal liars. The big switch from Republican to Democrats demonstrates how fed up folks are with being treated like mushrooms.
