Letter to Congressman Steve Austria (R)-7th OH

Dear Congressman Austria,
You are new to the Congress and you might not realize everyone in your Congressional District does NOT agree with you. Thanks to gerrymandering there aren't many Democrats in your district but a few of us are around and I think you need to hear from us every now and again.

My husband and I are two of your constituents who want to see this Congress pass a health care reform bill. So many of the speakers for your side use the phrase "Americans oppose this health care bill" as if they can speak for ALL Americans. But they don't speak for me or my husband, Bill.

We have many good reasons to want reform. I think one thing we are most concerned about is the fact that an insurance company can turn either one of us down because of a pre-existing illness. Since both of us have done our battle with serious illness we know the costs and the effect on our life if we had not had insurance to help pay the costs.

Also, the talk about selling insurance across state lines is a worry to us. This sounds like a new way to steal from the public. Just like the unaffordable mortgage scam Congress let go on for so many years. I hope you will step up for Ohio when this is being discussed and insist on strong regulations that will protect consumers from criminal deception by unscrupulous dealers.

Thank you for your attention to our concerns.
